Overview
Position Summary
The Sales Support Specialist assists clients through each step of the sales process, helping them resolve any concerns or questions they may have while processing, tracking, and shipping orders efficiently. They also identify and create lists of potential clients while maintaining databases of sales. Strong focus on customer satisfaction and quality of service.
Key responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with Medallion Industries (MI) customers in new construction, remodeling, and commercial contractors.
- Communicate effectively via phone, text, email, and in-person to manage the timely flow of deliveries to job sites.
- Walk customers through the showroom, discussing product offerings. Take in plans, accurately gather project information, and coordinate with outside sales staff.
- Execute MI selling strategies and initiatives, focusing on overall quality, value, and service.
- Write accurate quotes and orders, ensuring accuracy.
- Manage open orders to ensure timely invoices or proper deletion.
- Maintain customer profiles in Outlook or CRM with complete and updated information.
- Upload photos of pickups in Doc XT and communicate with sales for credit processing. Follow material return procedures.
- Confirm customer material needs prior to sending deliveries. Maintain material specifications and base quotes for production customers.
- Communicate with production and shipping departments to ensure realistic delivery promises.
- Process cash transactions following proper procedures.
- Must attend product knowledge classes.
- Complete safety training classes.
- Follow best practices in order entry, setting up deliveries, and all job aspects.
- Maintain a clean workspace.
- Answer the phone promptly with a friendly greeting.
- Searches inventory and open orders to meet customer preferred options.
- Make outgoing calls to prospects regarding business opportunities.
Key requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
- Some college desired.
- Knowledge of windows, doors, millwork, hardware, and light commercial construction is preferred.
- Experience in the construction industry is a plus.
- Attention to detail required.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to execute general selling principles, practices, and protocols.
- Strong relationship-building skills and a proactive approach to customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Reliable transportation.
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to share department responsibilities to meet deadlines.
- Other duties as assigned.
Physical requirements:
The ability to sit for extended periods, often at a desk, while using a computer and phone, with minimal physical movement beyond occasional reaching or walking around the office; essentially requiring good hand-eye coordination and the ability to sit comfortably for long stretches. Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 25 pounds.

- Experience with CRM systems and keeping detailed customer records.
- BisTrack ERP software a plus.

$20 – $32 (depending on experience)
